Adult Reader Reaction: This is a clever concept. By emphasizing the "fairy tale" and "treasure" the author is likely to draw in more readers. Although I love puzzle stories, I found this one tedious. I tend to like polished prose, and it is hard to tell what needs to be edited and what was a clue.
Pros: Children will enjoy the opportunity to "outwit" the author, uncover all the clues, and hunt for treasure.
Cons: There is fine print, both about places you can't hunt for treasure (such as Maryland) and the author's right to withhold the treasure.
Borrow or Buy: Skip it. This is a great concept, but could use more polish.
