Summary: Bella and Finny are Standard sized poodles dressed up in outrageous outfits to entertain and educate you counters. On each page, you will find a hilarious picture of Bella and/or Finny. Each page has 1-10 copies of the showcased picture, depending on the "number" for the page (1-10). This is a photo illustrated picture book to help kids with counting.

Type of Reading: playtime reading, read aloud book

Recommended Age: read together: 2 to 6; read yourself: 5 to 8

Interest Level: 2 to 5

Age of Child: Read with a 3-year-old boy.

Young Reader Reaction: My children are very good counters, and have memorized the order of numbers 1-10, so this book was not challenging to them and offered little educational content.

Adult Reader Reaction: This is not as interesting as some of the other Bella and Finny books. I didn't feel the educational matter to be as robust, even for a counting book.

Pros: The book has funny pictures that the kids will like to look at.

Cons: The counting concept is over-simplified.

Borrow or Buy: Borrow. A preschool teacher might buy it for the classroom library, but if your kids already have learned their numbers 1 to 10, skip it.
