Summary: The plane says goodbye to the ground, the plane says hello to the sky. Follow the airplane as it flies along on its journey over towns, birds, and under the stars. This is a simple story that can introduce kids to air travel.

Type of Reading: playtime reading, read aloud book

Recommended Age: read together: 3 to 7; read yourself: 7 to 10

Interest Level: 3 to 8

Age of Child: Read with children ages 3 and 5.

Young Reader Reaction: My three year old loved it! He repeatedly requested that we read this story. My five year old wasn't as interested, but she doesn't love airplanes as much as her brother.

Adult Reader Reaction: This is a sweet book. The illustrations are dreamy and lend an gentle atmosphere to the narrative. I wasn't surprised by my son's reaction, given how much he likes planes.

Pros: A simple and easily understandable narrative, complement beautiful and gentle illustrations.

Cons: None.

Borrow or Buy: Borrow. I would borrow this book for us, because though it is a wonderful and appealing book now, I am not sure it will grow with my son, given it's narrative simplicity. That said, we will be looking for this in the library because he did love it so much.
