All are simply described with great pictures and important information given. The DVD included is a great bonus and shows some of the animals live! This is a nonfiction picture book that introduces kids to unusual animals.

Age of Child: Read with a 5-year-old girl.

Young Reader Reaction: I picked this book for my daughter because she had been asking about how many different kinds of animals there were. She enjoyed the DVD. She also enjoyed the fun information about the different animals. Like their favorite food or the funny way they looked.

Adult Reader Reaction: I enjoyed the different animals as you don’t hear about some of them very often. The DVD was great and really helped you understand the book even more. It is pretty long, though.

Pros: This is an excellent book for teaching animals. The DVD is particularly valuable in bringing the animals to life for kids.

Cons: None.

Borrow or Buy: Borrow, at least. This is a great book for anyone who loves animals and is an excellent selection for the library.
