Summary: Simple sweet-sounding words in "baby" language help tell the story of getting ready for bed. This is a rhyming poem about a baby's day for newborns, infants, and toddlers.
Type of Reading: bedtime story, family reading, anytime reading, playtime reading, read aloud book
Recommended Age: read together: 0 to 2; read yourself: 6 to 8
Interest Level: 0 to 3
Age of Child: Read with boy 1½-years old.
Young Reader Reaction: My son liked the book, but not any more than any other books.
Adult Reader Reaction: Although the book is billed for this age, I felt the story would be better geared for ages 6 to 12 months. I have other books I like more, but this was interesting enough to keep our child's attention.
Pros: The book has fun sounding words that would be wonderfully stimulating as a first book for an infant.
Cons: The book comprises mostly single words and made-up words (baby-o, huggle) that make it find for babies 6 to 12 months, but not for 1 year or older.
Borrow or Buy: Borrow. This is a nice book, but because the "reading window" is so small for, you are better off borrowing it.
