Young Reader Reaction: S/He liked Twitchy and asked to read it several times. The farm setting made it attractive to our animal lover.

Adult Reader Reaction: This is a sweet story that helps introduce the idea that we are each our own person, and we don't have to "look like" someone else to share love.

Pros: The story effectively introduces how a family works, without getting technical or detailed about adoption. The narrative doesn't go overboard, and the illustrations are great (even offering a chuckle or two).

Cons: None.

Borrow or Buy: Buy. This is a story that has facets that will teach and reassure a child through several phases of development and self-discovery.
