Type of Reading: any time
Recommended Age: read together: 0 to 4; read yourself: 6 to 8
Age of Child: started reading at 2 years
Young Reader Reaction: S/He liked pointing to the things that Wibbly did. We had several requests for the book, but it dropped in interest after about a week.
Adult Reader Reaction: The illustrations are cute, but you need to 'round out' the narrative to make this a book worth picking up. It's easy to create the rhymes toddlers like…it just takes some quick thinking.
Pros: It's a short book with activities toddlers can relate to.
Cons: There is no story, just declarations of things Wibbly can do.
Educational Themes: The book, even without a story, offers affirmation of the creative, playful life toddlers enjoy and want to perpetuate.
Literary Categories: fiction - animal stories
