Young Reader Reaction: My kids picked out this book from our pile. My two year old enjoyed the pictures. My four year old, who is learning about the seasons, loved it and enjoyed pointing out the things she has noticed or is looking forward to this winter.
Adult Reader Reaction: I enjoyed this book. It is well written and illustrated. I was not surprised that they enjoyed this book.
Pros: Fun pictures add to the learning value of this board book.
Cons: This isn't the most exciting book if your kids are not interested in seasons, or you want a story.
Borrow or Buy: Borrow. Most children would be happy to read this book several times, but I think it could be checked out of the library. This book would be perfect in a preschool, Kindergarten, or first grade classroom library.
Educational Themes: With preschoolers and first graders, ask kids what they know about then share the book to see how many things they knew. Use the illustrations to point out things that are unique to winter.
