SNICKERDOODLE!™ AND THE ROLLER-SKATING HORSE!

Author: Clare Ham Grosgebauer

Illustrator: Karen Rissing

Reserve at the Library

Publisher: Small Wonders Enterprises,

Material: paperback

Summary: While traveling in his peanut car, Snickerdoodle heard a horse in distress. The horse, wallowing in mud to his waist, was skeptical that such a small person could help. Ingenuity in freeing the horse, ultimately led to a friendship that helped Snickerdoodle make more believers in the power of being small. This is a tall tale in the classic tradition.

Young Reader Reaction: Within a few days and several readings, our preschooler was quoting Snickerdoodle. S/He loves to listen to the book on the CD and sing the songs.

Adult Reader Reaction: The story is fun … reminiscent of many of the great stories we remember as kids (like flat Stanley). The CD with new lyrics for classic songs of Americana complement the books nicely.
