Summary: When a summer rain keeps a granddaughter inside, she decides she wants to explore Grandma's treasure chest. Young Reader Reaction: Our daughter was enchanted by the illustrations … seeking out that pirate's treasure. When we were through, she asked about HER grandmother's treasure chest!
Adult Reader Reaction: This is a wonderful book … probably the best yet! The idea of "memories" were a little beyond our daughter, but she didn't miss the point that Grandma's have special things to share.
Pros: The illustrations are incredible and the poetry is stunning. You will lose yourself in your own family memories. The author provides a cheat-sheet for creating your own treasure chest.
Cons: Absolutely none.
Borrow or Buy: Buy! You will want a copy for you and a copy for the grandmothers in your family, too. It is THAT good.
