Meet Lorna Schultz Nicholson

Lorna Schultz Nicholson grew up in St. Catharines, Ontario. Her passions as a child were reading, writing and athletics. By the time she was a teenager, athletics was her principle interest, and her other interests took the back bench to becoming a jock.

After earning a BS in Human Performance, she worked as the Fitness and Recreation Coordinator at the University of Victoria (her alma mater), where she also coached rowing. Ultimately, though, she returned to writing, as a community events reporter and columnist. Then she moved into the spotlight of sports on television. In the 1980s, she co-hosted and was the script writer for an aerobics show in Victoria, BC. She later moved to Ontario, where she became the health and lifestyles reporter for Donohue's Legends on CJOH. Ultimately, she hosted and produced her own syndicated show, Family Time.

Although researching and reporting the facts is fun, Lorna's muse is fiction! She began writing mystery novels, scripts and children's novels while staying home to raise her three children: Mandi, Marijean, and Grant, now teenagers. When it comes to her hockey novels for middle readers, she can rely on her husband Bob, President of Hockey Canada for the facts and nuances of the sport, and her children (and their friends) for the fan's perspective!
