Clare Grosgebauer and Snickerdoodle have been friends for a lifetime. From the very first time her grandfather started telling her about this Powerful Pee-Wee, she has been captivated with the idea of bringing the stories to life.

Her background in early childhood education, her experience as a teacher , and her love of writing all contribute to her effort to re-introduce the storytelling genre to families and teachers. She has obviously struck a note, as the Snickerdoodle books have received praise from the late Dr. Seuss, and won a Mom's Choice Awards Seal of Approval (Picture Book Category) in 2005.

Clare is an award-winning writer, with feature articles on education and women's/family issues in a number of national magazines, including Working Woman, American Education, Humanities Report, as well as newspapers like The Washington Post. She has contributed to Time-Life Books' series on Successful Parenting and has ghostwritten and edited several consumer-oriented books.

Since 1995 she has been staff editor for the National Art Education Association in Reston, Virginia. Clare is a member of the Women's National Book Association, the Publishers Marketing Association, and the Association of Booksellers for Children. She has been listed in Who's Who of American Women.
