Author Showcase

Sabrina Hofkin loves flying ... and writing, not necessarily in that order. She is a certified pilot and a published author. One of her short stories, "Stranded," was featured in a local anthology, Portfolio North, in 2004.

For as long as she can remember, Sabrina has kept a journal, writing about everything that mattered to her at any given time: her dogs, her family, her love life, her successes, her disappointments.

When she decided to publish a book, she chose to write an adventure novel for pre-teens/teens. Her main character, Magnolia Holden, relives some of Sabrina's personal experiences as a pilot and embodies some of her passions, but she is more than just a prototype of the author.

Sabrina grew up in Poulsbo, Washington, and Grand Junction, Colorado. She attended Widener University, near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.

After graduating from college, she persued a passion for flying. Sabrina holds a Commercial Pilot Certificate and while living in Philadelphia, she worked as a Certified Flight Instructor (teaching students to become private and commercial pilots, and instrument and multi-engine rated pilots.)

Sabrina lives in Redding, California with her husband, three young sons (4-year-old twins and a 2-1/2 year old), and three dogs. Although she doesn't get as much daily journal-writing time as she used to, she's happy to be Mom and to continue developing a relationship with Magnolia Holden and her friends.
