61 percent of low-income families have no books at all in their homes for their children.
Meet Terry John Barto
With more than 200 stage productions in his portfolio, Terry John Barto knows a thing or two about storytelling. His children's books, combines his knowledge of the business with stories for children.
Gollywood Here I Come! is a window into the world of creating a movie; and his upcoming picture book Nickerbacher the Funniest Dragon introduces children the world of comedy. For Terry, Anamazie and Nickerbacher are more than children's book characters.
They are central figures in his bigger storytelling goal: re-introduce kids and their parents to the joy of *just* reading a book together. Although not a big reader in his youth, Terry is well versed in children's literature. Many of his favorites can be found on his Children's Books Pinterest Board.
In addition to his behind-the-scenes work, Terry is an accomplished musician, singer, and dancer. Throughout school, he was in marching band, and started singing and dancing. After graduation, Terry got heavily involved with musical theater and performed at Disneyland.
Terry lives in Los Angeles, California. He enjoys Pilates, Yoga, and hiking with his dachshund, Mazie.
