Little Kid Reaction: Both of the boys liked the colorful pictures and naming the animals. The words were predictable so they could "read" along. The story of Noah led to a discussion about the religious moral of the story.
Big Kid Reaction: I loved the bright, fun illustrations. I also loved that my son was excited and energized by the lyrical text. I didn't like the page where the animals were "pooing," not just in the illustration but in the text. It's just a personal avoidance of teaching my 4-year-old to say "poo-poo" over and over in fun.
Pros: The illustrations are engaging, kids will recognize the song, and it is a creative way to use a nursery rhyme to tell the story.
Cons: I could do without the "poo-poo here, and a poo-poo there."
Borrow or Buy: Borrow. That said, I would buy this for a church library or Sunday School classroom. It is a fun book to share.
Educational Themes: This is a great book for a church Sunday school class.
