Little Kid Reaction: I picked this book for my daughter, and we shared it once, but she didn't want to read it again. She thought the pictures were funny. She liked when the one page shows all these babies that have just been born. They are all dressed up to be what their parents think they will grow up to be. There was one with a violin and another with a doctors bag.
Big Kid Reaction: This was cute and easy to read, but I don’t think I would pick it up again. I thought it took the subject too far and made more of a deal about it then really needs to be.
Pros: Good rhyming text, bright colors, and children shown doing some kind of activity on every page will engage kids to explore this picture book about life.
Cons: None offered by this reviewer.
Borrow or Buy: Borrow. This is a fun book to share, and you can talk about all of the different things the kids are interested in. There is probably a copy at your local library.
Educational Themes: The story opens the door to talking with your kids about being true to themselves, pursuing their passions, and telling the truth - even when you don't want to. It also affirms that following your passion is a way to enjoy living.
