Summary: Each page has an activity using all the letters of the alphabet, such a "find letters A to Z on the blocks" or "name each object and the name the object" and they start with each letter of the alphabet. This is a book for practicing letter recognition and letter sounds.

Little Kid Reaction: My 4-year-old was appropriately challenged to identify the letters and their sounds. My 2-year-old enjoyed the page with the animals. They both liked the book and wanted to read it later.
Big Kid Reaction: I liked that this is a learning book, and I liked being able to turn any page and get a 5 to 10 minute learning activity. But this is not a book to read cover-to-cover in one sitting.
Pros: This is a good book for learning to read. It provides a large variety of activities, so children who like different things may be attracted to different approaches.
Cons: Once you realize to only "do" a couple of pages at a time, there are no significant shortfalls.
Borrow or Buy: Borrow. This would be a great book for a Pre-K/Kindergarten classroom, used one page at a time or for individual exploration.
Educational Themes: There is lots to do with this book. You have letter recognition and phonics practice; with lots of activities, such as search and find. It helps kids see how letters together make words and words describe objects or convey information. It also introduces capitalization.
