It seems that for some of us, a love of reading just came naturally. We search for a place to curl up with a book every chance we get.
For others, reading is sheer drudgery. We do it because we have to, and certainly not for pleasure.
Regardless of our own perspective on the subject, we know we need to help our kids learn to read. And, truth be told, as parents, we WANT to help our kids learn to read.
Be sure to read Guided Reading at Home, our two-part series that offers ways that parents can help their children using some of the same techniques their teachers use at school. Click here to read.
We'd also like to introduce you to Jen Robinson. Visit her blog JKR Books to learn about books for adults on literacy, as well as catch up with her reviews of children's books. She has created an exceptional resource to help you help kids get excited about reading ... written for you, not the academics!
