Little Kid Reaction: My son liked this book. He liked the rhyming text and the beautifully colored illustrations, but he especially liked all the noises you make as you read it. He tried to do the sounds with me and hummed along as I “sang” it.
Big Kid Reaction: I enjoyed the easy to follow story and fun rhyming text. I also really liked the illustrations. I wasn’t sure how he would like it but was really glad when he brought it to me later to read again!
Pros: Fun rhyming text and easy-to-follow descriptions of noises make this an engaging book to share with toddlers and preschoolers.
Cons: None.
Borrow or Buy: Buy. This is a fun book to share at home and it should be available in every library.
Educational Themes: Making sounds is a great way to engage toddlers and preschoolers in developing their language skills. Asking "what sound does this make" also helps with object recognition, too. Rhymes make it fun to see how words can play together.
