Summary: Halfdan has gained the respect of the Dane leaders and has impressed his fellow Norsemen with his talent with the longbow. Since the fateful night his brother Harald was murdered, Halfdan’s single mission in life has been to find and kill the murderers. The leadership of the Danes declared a war against Frankia, redressing an attack a generation earlier. Once again, Halfdan proves himself on the battlefield, at the peace negotiation, and as a sensitive, just and fair person. However, Snore and Hrorik are planning to murder Halfdan. What’s going to happen? This is the third title in this Viking adventure trilogy.

Adult Reader Reaction: As readers, we can see that sometimes when authors write sequels it is difficult to sustain the level of excitement that initially engaged us. This is not so in the case of Judson Roberts and The Strongbow Saga. The author provides a seamless transition between the three books without skipping a beat.
Pros: The Strongbow Saga informative, well crafted, and enjoyable to read. This gets a 9 out of 10.
Borrow or Buy: Buy. This is highly recommended for those who have an interest in medieval history. Having a copy in the school or public library might be the appropriate place to reach an audience of reluctant readers.
Educational Themes: This book is historical fiction at its very best. The author is an accomplished and knowledgeable expert on the Viking Era. Equally important, he knows how to educate, as well as entertain, the reader.
